    James Blunt Empty James Blunt

    Post by samh004 Tue Sep 18, 2007 1:52 am

James Blunt got as many good reviews as he did bad ones for his debut, Back To Bedlam. Seems some people believed he couldn't actually sing, but it still sold many-times-over platinum, so I guess most people in the world who buy music are deaf.

Either way, that was 2004, it's now 2007 and he just released his second album, All The Lost Souls, after a huge marketing campaign that saw his face plastered absolutely everywhere I was, between Europe and Asia. His latest single, 1973, has also been getting a lot of airtime and I must say it's really left a good impression on me, sometimes I can't get it out of my head before I go to sleep.

All The Lost Souls was released on the 17th September, and I expect it to sell very well immediately. I've heard it, in fact I've got it, and it's a very well written album. The songs flow from one to the next really well and I must say they are quite catchy. It wont be long before I accidentally start singing along on a bus.

I'd recommend at least a listen, if not buying the album, it's sure to be a hit this Autumn (or Spring if you live in the Southern Hemisphere).

Yeah it really got overplayed, the major reason I hate this song when I was in art class a couple years ago they played this song on the radio everyday and I just got so sick of hearing it

Yes that was the single that got him somewhere in the charts. It reached number one in the UK, US and Canada, among others. It's also been reported that it's now more popular at weddings in the UK than Robbie Williams' "Angels", so it stands to reason that you wouldn't like it, hehe.

Of note, I got most of the article from my head but some info from wikipedia. There's quite a lot of useful stuff there that I didn't use, if your interested in reading up on it.

Well... two albums and a decent career serving in the army, even leading thousands into "battle" means he could of had a massive piece on him and his life, but it wasn't what I was going for.

No I ment that if everybody's article was on James Blunt it wouldn't be that great of a contest because everybody would be doing the same thing.

Well it'd be easy to see who did their research and where they got their information from. It'd also then be more about spelling and grammar than before Razz

All of his songs are annoying. And contrary to popular belief, I, and many many people who hate him, have heard more than "You're Beautiful." Although that song sucks gigantic balls, so do the rest of them.
