    Metal or Metalcore?

The genre of Metal has been going strong for many years now. Seemingly growing more and more popular over the years, the genre has given birth to many phenomenal bands. Some would say it's hard to determine true Metal anymore though. This is a result of the genre called Metalcore. Basically, Metalcore is considered mediocre Metal. At times these genre's can sound one in the same, meaning the decline of "true" Metal bands. For the most part, Metal has stayed true, but I think we can say that it can go either way at this point. In a few years, Metalcore may not even exist, and the genre of Metal will continue to live on strongly. On the other hand, many of the great Metal bands are growing old, and you don't live forever. This being said, will Metalcore rise to see the fall of original Metal, or will Metal beat Metalcore down? Only time will tell, and time can change a lot of things.

Their's no way Metalcore will take over Metal. For one thing metal has way to many subgenres for it to be controled by just one subgenre and two metalcore has to weak of a sound for it to last to much longer I see it dieing out in the next few years.

Very Deep and Profound Razz. Seriously though, you do have a point, it could be a battle to the death of both, or an eventual victor, or never ending.

I do not see Metalcore taking over, but I can't rule it out.

It's quite popular though. I don't see people getting sick of it because of it's large fan-base. Thought I honestly don't see it rising above Metal.

To each his own I suppose, but I don't see how it "sucks".

That's the assumption, because Metal has been the dominant genre for much to long to be pushed down by a sub-genre of Hardcore.
